This Privacy Policy describes how Nailo, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, shares, and protects Your information when You use the Nailo mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Nailo is a marketplace platform that connects independent nail technicians ("Nail Techs") with clients seeking nail services ("Clients"). We do not provide nail services ourselves, do not employ Nail Techs, and do not sell physical products.
1. Interpretation and Definitions
1.1 Interpretation
Capitalized terms have the meanings assigned to them in this Policy.
1.2 Definitions
- Account
- — means the unique profile created for You to access the Service, either as a Client or a Nail Tech.
- Application
- — means the Nailo mobile application (and the companion Nailed Pro application for Nail Techs).
- Company, We, Us, or Our
- — means Nailo, Inc.
- Client
- — means a user who books nail services through the Service.
- Device
- — means any device used to access the Service.
- Nail Tech
- — means an independent nail technician or salon owner who offers services through the Service.
- Personal Data
- — means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
- Service Provider Content
- — means business information, portfolio photos, services, pricing, availability, and other content submitted by Nail Techs.
- Usage Data
- — means data collected automatically through use of the Service, including device information, activity logs, and analytics data.
- User Content
- — means photos, images, text, reviews, messages, metadata, or other inputs You upload or submit through the Service.
- Website
- — means nailo.app.
- You
- — means the individual using the Service.
2. Types of Data We Collect
2.1 Personal Data You Provide
When You create an Account or use the Service, we may collect:
- •First and last name
- •Email address
- •Phone number (optional, used for booking coordination)
- •Profile photo (optional)
- •Password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider)
- •Account role (Client, Nail Tech, or Salon Owner)
2.2 Nail Tech Business Data
If You register as a Nail Tech or Salon Owner, we additionally collect:
- •Business or salon name
- •Business location (typically city and state; precise address is optional)
- •Services offered, pricing, and duration
- •Availability and working hours
- •Payment acceptance preferences (e.g., whether You accept card payments)
- •Portfolio photos of Your work
- •Salon photos and team member information (for Salon Owners)
2.3 Booking and Transaction Data
When a booking is made through the Service, we collect and process:
- •Booking date, start time, and end time
- •Selected service(s) and associated price/duration
- •Booking status (pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled, declined, no-show)
- •Notes from the Client to the Nail Tech
- •Decline or cancellation reasons
2.4 Reviews and User Content
Clients may submit reviews after a completed booking, which include:
- •Star rating (1–5)
- •Written comment
- •Optional photo
- •Recommendation indicator
Reviews are publicly visible on the reviewed Nail Tech's profile.
2.5 Photos
The Service collects photos in the following contexts:
- •Profile and avatar photos (Clients and Nail Techs)
- •Portfolio photos uploaded by Nail Techs (publicly visible)
- •Salon photos uploaded by Salon Owners (publicly visible)
- •Review photos uploaded by Clients (publicly visible on the Nail Tech's profile)
To upload photos, the Application requests permission to access Your device's photo library or camera. You may decline these permissions, but related features will not function. Uploaded images are restricted to common image formats and a maximum file size of 5MB.
2.6 Push Notifications
With Your consent, we send push notifications about booking activity (new requests, confirmations, cancellations, reminders) and reviews. You may disable push notifications at any time through Your device settings or the in-app notification preferences.
2.7 Location Information
The Service uses general location information (such as city and state) entered by Nail Techs to help Clients discover providers nearby. With Your permission, the Application may also access Your device's GPS location to show Nail Techs near You and improve search results. You may grant or revoke this permission at any time through Your device settings; if You decline, location-based discovery features will be limited or unavailable. We do not continuously track Your location in the background, and we do not share Your precise location with Nail Techs or other users.
2.8 Usage Data
We automatically collect:

- •Time stamps and activity logs
- •Crash data and performance diagnostics
- •Feature usage analytics
2.9 Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, functionality, and security. The Application may use mobile identifiers for analytics and crash reporting.
3. How We Use Your Data
3.1 To Provide and Improve the Service

- •Enable Clients to discover Nail Techs and book appointments
- •Enable Nail Techs to manage their profile, availability, services, and bookings
- •Display portfolios, reviews, and ratings
- •Send booking-related communications and reminders
- •Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- •Maintain Service stability, debug issues, and improve performance
3.2 Communications
We may contact You regarding bookings, account activity, security alerts, Service updates, and customer support responses.
3.3 Marketing (Optional)
With Your consent, we may send promotional emails about new features or offers. You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
3.4 Legal and Compliance

3.5 Business Transfers

6. User Content and License Rights
By submitting User Content (including profile photos, portfolio photos, salon photos, reviews, and review photos), You grant Nailo a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, store, process, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute Your User Content solely to operate, maintain, promote, and improve the Service.
Portfolio photos, salon photos, reviews, and review photos are intentionally public-facing and may be displayed to other users of the Service.
You represent and warrant that You own or have the necessary rights to all User Content You submit, and that the content does not violate any third party's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
7. Retention of Data
- •Personal Data: retained for as long as Your Account is active or as needed to provide the Service
- •Booking records: retained for record-keeping, dispute resolution, and tax/accounting compliance
- •Reviews: may remain publicly visible after Account deletion in anonymized or attributed form, as permitted by law
- •Usage Data: retained for a shorter period unless needed for security or legal purposes
- •Backups: retained for limited periods as part of standard practices
We delete or anonymize data when no longer needed unless retention is legally required.
8. Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside Your jurisdiction, including the United States. We implement safeguards as required by applicable law, including standard contractual clauses for international transfers where appropriate.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on Your jurisdiction, You may have rights to:

10. Deleting Your Account and Personal Data
You may delete Your Account directly from within the Application. Account deletion will remove or anonymize:
- •Profile information and avatar
- •Portfolio photos, salon photos, and business information (for Nail Techs)
- •Saved favorites and personal preferences
- •Push notification tokens
Some information may persist where legally required, including booking records needed for tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention. Reviews may remain visible in anonymized form. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

11. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Your data, including encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, restricted file-type uploads, server-side authorization checks, and audit logging. However, no online system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in Your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If You believe a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at support@nailo.app and we will take steps to delete such information.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites or services (such as map providers or payment apps used directly between Clients and Nail Techs). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we do not control or endorse.
14. Marketplace Disclaimer
Nailo is a marketplace that connects Clients and Nail Techs. We do not employ Nail Techs, do not provide nail services, and do not sell physical products. Any agreement, payment, service, or transaction between a Client and a Nail Tech is solely between those parties. While we facilitate the booking and review process, we are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service rendered by a Nail Tech.
15. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what Personal Information we collect, the right to delete Personal Information, the right to correct inaccurate Personal Information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of Personal Information. We do not sell Personal Information. To exercise these rights, contact support@nailo.app.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Updates become effective when posted. For material changes, we may notify You by email or through the Application. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes Your acceptance of the changes.
